Can a doula support me with a planned c-section?
A doula can still provide you with prenatal resources, educational resources about cesareans, and emotional support for you and partner after surgery
What if I have an epidural?
Doulas support all pregnancies. Emotional and physical support can still be provided before and during birth. This extra help is needed to help with transitioning positions.
Will a doula replace my partner?
A doula supports the partner as well and they work together to support mom. A doula empowers the partner with tools to help support mom.
Can my nurse support me like a doula?
Doulas provide continuous support, while a nurse is able to provide intermittent support.
Are doulas and midwives the same?
A midwife has medical training in delivering babies, while doulas do not have medical training and focus on the emotional and physical needs of mom.
